摘要
In this paper we show how requirements for high-availability services in IP telephony environments can be met by running the call-control protocol SIP with an RSerPool architecture. The RSerPool protocol runs at the session layer to support the HA service. We show how SIP entities map to the RSerPool architecture and show in detail how a SIP proxy operates in this architecture. The solution we provide makes it possible to hold call-state redundantly (crucial for billing and for feature calls) and makes use: of the fast and failure type specific fail-over capabilities of RScrPool. This is particularly important due to the time-critical nature of call-control. Furthermore, SIP proxies running with an RSerPool architecture can coexist with proxies unaware of RSerPool redundancy.
