摘要
We descrone an accidental eestasy poisoning in a 10-month-old girl Case reoirt. A 10-month infant suddenly exhibited behavior disorders with restlessness, hypertoma, and repetitive movements. She was immediately taken to the Emergency Department. Cardiovasculat (tachycardia and hypertension) and neurological disorders (manor agitation, mydriasis, and mystagmus) were the predominating chemical featurees. The most common differential diagnoseds including febrile convulsion, cranial trauma, or encephatus were progressively ruled out. The urinary toxicological sereen was positive for methamphetamine MDMA, its main metabolite, and caffeine were subsequenty detected in teh infant's use using gas chromatography/mass spectometry. The child had completely revovered the next morning. Comment. Prediatice poisoning with easty remains uncommoon. To date, about 10 eases have been reported. All were due to acedental ingestion. TOday, the use of easily is no longer restricted to recreational purposed (have parties, etc.) and it seems to be developing in private parties and in the lone. The intrusion of this amphetamine-like drug into the domestic environment may expose young children to the accidental ingestion of estasy lables. (C) 2009 Elsevier Masson SAS All rights reserved.
