摘要：
In this paper, a wideband light weight U-slot patch antenna array with wide L-probe feed for ultra-wideband radar to sound and image ice is developed. A prototype of 1 x 4 element array is fabricated and tested to verify the concept. To achieve wideband impedance matching, we used a wide flat L-probe feed along with the mutual coupling between antenna array elements. The antenna array operates over 170 MHz - 325 MHz frequency band (67% impedance bandwidth). More than 11 dBi broadside gain is obtained over the desired frequency band.
