Peter Handke: Soria as a pretext

The author wrote the Essay on the Jukebox in Soria (December 1989). The trip and the jukebox are the pretexts for an exploration of writing in an isolated place, where trifles demand to be lived and told at the same time, trying to link, serious or elevated art and jukebox pop culture without the pressure of success. When he returns almost twenty years later, we do not know if he is more relieved of the weight of the world or different.
