Simplified Model for Performance Estimation of Narrowband Data Transmission over Low-Voltage Power Lines

摘要
The paper deals with transmission of communication signals over low-voltage power distribution lines. Narrowband data transmission for Smart Metering systems is considered. The probability of data frame loss is derived, based on practical experiments, and its impact on the efficiency of reading data records from electricity meters is discussed. Furthermore, communication system with frequency-shift keying modulation is considered. The system performance can he extended using wider frequency band and OFDM modulation.
