摘要
The rapid development of urbanization in China has not only promoted economic growth, but it has also leaded to an increase in energy consumption and the problem of haze. The present study investigates empirically the relationship between urbanization and energy consumption, urbanization and haze, and energy consumption structure and haze. By using data from 1980 to 2016, this study analyzes empirically the annual population growth rate and the urbanization tempo in China. To reduce haze pollution, China should establish regional warning systems; incorporate regional differences in energy countermeasures; establish a scientific, efficient, clean, and sustainable coal supply system; promote ecological urbanization; implement technological innovation, adjust export patterns, and promote energy alternatives.
