摘要
The purpose of this study is to investigate the professional recognition in terms of what functions digital textbooks for music education must have in the eyes of the experts. For this study, 30 music instructors and professors were involved as they went through three Delphi surveys and the results from these investigations served as the basis for the post investigation interviews. As a result, it was discovered that digital textbooks must have the capability to facilitate self-directed learning. This means that digital textbooks must contain a learning-map which enables the students to study on their own unlike the traditional textbooks. Second, the digital textbooks must be able to allow the students to make connections between subjects with relative ease. An example of this instance would be the function to connect to the social science textbook from the section on the historical background of a musical piece through a simple click, etc. Lastly, a digital textbook for music education must be able to visualize the information for the students. Showing how the music is progressing on the screen along with the music playing through the speakers will help greatly with the students' learning.
