摘要
We investigated the efficacy of the Coping Skills Programme to address dilemmas and solutions for parents of children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Participants were purposively sampled parents of children diagnosed with ADHD in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Data was collected by means of personal interviews and was analysed using the coding model of Guba (Creswell, 2003; Guba & Lincoln, 1994). The findings indicated that parental role clarity, unity, understanding, involvement, discipline and consistency had a direct bearing on the outcomes of the Coping Skills Programme, and it was concluded that the programme did offer solutions for the dilemmas faced by the participants.
