摘要
The augment in world inhabitants, industrialization and contamination are the main reason for environment pollution and global warming. Hence Photocatalysis becomes more fascinating area of research for photodegradation of pollutants from air and water. TiO2 as a catalyst has been extensively investigated for its extra ordinary surface properties like specific surface area, unique magnetic property, high surface tension, low melting point, excellent thermal conductivity, strong oxidation activity, super hydrophilicity and environment friendly in nature. As a strong photocatalyst to improve its efficiency a number of approaches for TiO2 modification have been proposed including metal-ion implanted TM doped, nonmetal doped, composites of TiO2 with semiconductor, sensitizing of TiO2 with dyes and TiO2 doped with conversion luminescence agent. A clear relation visualized in this article between fabrication of TiO2 thin film and various characteristics measurements by XRD, AFM, XPS, VBS, SEM and UVvis SP with their performances in photocatalysis activity. In present work authors have reported photodegradation of various pollutants and their consequences with respected to environmental pollution. As a result, this interesting studies by authors will explore new possibilities in future research in Titanium dioxide for photocatalysis applications for removal of various pollutants.
