摘要：

Tumour necrosis factor alpha (TNF alpha) is the proinflammatory cytokine that plays an important role in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Anti-TNF alpha therapy is a promising method for biological RA treatment. This article summarises the role of TNF alpha in RA pathogenesis, the role of TNF alpha antagonists in RA therapy, adverse effects of TNF alpha inhibitors and factors that predispose patients to a positive response to anti-TNF alpha therapy.
