Literature and current affairs. The writers at the congress, 1919-1946

The cultural and literary life of Europe in the early twentieth century is punctuated by a phenomenon clearly identified by contemporaries, but with less precision in historiography: the international conferences of writers. The article presents a review of the main public debates of writers organized between the two wars by institutions with the most diverse political orientations, and analyzes their reception and their genre and discourse peculiarities.
