The 2008/09 beet campaign was characterized by high technological quality of the processed beet and excellent climatic conditions throughout the growing and processing season. The average Sugar content achieved 17.98 % in the Czech Republic. A total of 2.565 mn t of beet (only for sugar) were processed at an average sugar-beet yield of 58.3 t/ha and 10.52 t/ha sugar yield. The total processing time of sugarbeet was 102.5 clays, and the total production of white Sugar from beet was 414,700 t. Seven sugar factories were operating in the Czech Republic during the past sugar campaign, the total beet processing capacity was 37,213 t/d while one of-the factories processed. 14,332 t on a single day. In the Czech Republic agroethanol (E85) is also produced from the beet by the company TTD Dobrovice. This paper also gives information about new investments before the 2008/09 season in Czech Sugar factories.
