Biocompatible thin films obtained by laser ablation (PLD)

摘要
The study presents the researches concerning the growth and characteristics of the hydroxyapatite (HAp) thin films deposited on Ti support using the PLD (pulsed laser deposition) method, by a KrF excimer laser (wavelength k=248 nm, pulsed duration 2FWHM = 20ns). The obtaining of fine and uniform functional films depends on optional processing parameters. The as resulting HAp films present a good crystallinity, compositional uniformity and structural homogeneity. Preferential orientations of the PLD films diffraction patterns are observed, as compared with the original HAp target. FTIR spectra clearly show all the important absorption bands of HAp, the phosphoric and hydroxyl ones, which are present in the grown film without distortion. Generally, a finer and more uniform PLD film surface than those of other methods is obtained.
