The European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) was founded in London on September 2,1984 with the goal of fostering study, science and research in the field of reproductive medicine. To that end, the journal "Human Reproduction" serves as the literary adjunct to regular annual meetings supplemented by "Molecular Human Reproduction" and "Human Reproduction Update". A newsletter offers exchange of internal information. As the constituent organ, the annual general assembly elects an advisory committee and an executive committee, which appoints an international committee for scientific preparation of the annual meeting. Various special interest groups are headed by a coordinator who organizes scientific meetings focussing on the particular subject. The society's goal is to stimulate cooperation between all individuals active in the field of reproductive medicine and embryology.
