摘要
This essay explores the meanings of logos, that is, the logical aspects of music. The discussion is divided into three main categories: the definition of music, the definition of musical discourse, and the definition of musical meaning. The combination of the three results in the general definition of what we understand as contemporary musical logos, fitting, therefore, the current status of the concept in philosophy (represented by philosophers such as Gilles Deleuze, Nicholas Wolterstorff, and Michael Polanyi) and music (especially musicology and musical composition). The main conclusion is that the logical aspect of music cannot be known today without an indepth analysis of its consequences in performance, as an intrinsic component of its concept.
