Prospects for the Use of Electric Vehicles in Public Transport on the Example of the City of Czechowice-Dziedzice

The article discusses the perspectives for the introduction of electric buses to common use in public transport in Czechowice-Dziedzice. The article consists of an introduction, three chapters and a summary. The introduction presents the importance of electric buses as one of the most important aspects of the development of electromobility. The first chapter was used to describe a brief history of electric vehicles. This chapter also identifies the advantages and disadvantages of combustion engine, hybrid and electric vehicles. The second chapter presents the most popular electric buses in Poland. The third chapter presents a comparative analysis of the application of diesel, hybrid and electric buses in public transport in Czechowice-Dziedzice. The advantages and disadvantages of particular solutions were pointed out based on simplified cost calculation taking into account the costs of purchase and operation of buses. The summary served as a presentation of conclusions and an indication of the possibility of widespread use of electric buses in public transport in the analyzed locality in the near future.
