摘要：
Based on the principle of distributed functionality new automation solutions are going to be available. Advanced system architectures will allow to run functions in the automation device as well as in independently working field devices. The application will be described as function blocks being freely combined and communicating through the bus systems. As a prerequisite it is necessary to standardize function blocks, device description languages and a communication system (fieldbus).
