摘要
A low power wide tuning range ring voltage controlled oscillator which adopted an improved cross-crowed architecture is presented in this paper. Fabricated in a standard 0.18um process, the circuit shows a linear frequency voltage characteristic which covers a wide tuning range with three stages resulting in frequency range of 261MHz -1.32GHZ under the 1.2V supply. The K-V can reach 1.89GHz /V, and the tuning range can reach 134%. The oscillator exhibits a low phase noise of -98dBc /Hz at 1MHz offset from the center frequency 0.73GHz. Meanwhile, the power consumption is 0.41mW to 1.6 mW.
