摘要
A series of novel yellowish orange emitting K1+xBa1-2xSmxBP2O8 (0.005 <= x <= 0.08) phosphors were first synthesized via a high-temperature solid-state reaction. The phase purity and photoluminescence properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and fluorescence spectroscopy (FS) measurements, respectively. The influence of the doping concentration of Sm3+ on its relative emission intensity and decay behavior was systematically investigated. The critical distance as well as concentration quenching mechanism was calculated and confirmed. The as-prepared phosphor can be effectively excited with a 402 nm light, and exhibit yellowish orange emission with short decay time in the order of millisecond. The above work indicates this phosphor could be a potential candidate as yellowish orange emitting phosphor for application in white light-emitting diodes. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
