摘要
Background: Hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes and low platelets (HELLP) syndrome is associated with a high risk of serious maternal and neonatal Morbidity and mortality. To date, termination of the pregnancy has been the appropriate treatment for this syndrome. However, long-term administration of corticosteroids is becoming increasingly popular for the treatment of HELLP syndrome. Case Report: A 32-year-old primigravida was admitted to Our hospital with HELLP syndrome in the 23rd week of gestation. The patient received corticosteroids for about six weeks. We achieved a successful prolongation of the patient's pregnancy until the 29th week of gestation. Conclusion: This case report supports the use of long-term corticosteriod administration for successful prolongation of a pregnancy in a patient with HELLP syndrome during early pregnancy.
