Perspective on snow technology and science

ICSE-3 was a valuable conference. It brought people together, which are often not in contact, snow researchers and consumers as architects or civil engineers. Discussion was around the same material snow, but from different point of views. This seems especially a benefit for research. Snow research is primarily applied science, its direction has therefore to be guided by practical problems. Many snow phenomena play in our life a more important role than snow specialists sometime think.
