Photoperiodic control of flowering: Various signals and their roles

摘要
This is a lecture dedicated to the memory of Professor M.Kh. Chailakhyan. Florigenic signals are discussed. The timing of flower initiation is considered a crucial process in the ontogenesis of monocarpic plants. Evidence for the existence of a florigenic stimulus derived from correlative changes in bioelectric potentials is presented. It is possible to conclude that changes in cytokinins in leaves, stems, and roots are not linked to photoperiodic flower induction.
