Design of nonlinear observers for fault diagnosis: A case study

摘要
This paper deals with the application of two nonlinear observer-based fault detection and isolation schemes to a laboratory hydraulic installation under digital control. Both methods employ a bank of observers in order to isolate different faults. Residual generators are developed which take into account system nonlinearities, model uncertainties and disturbances. Practical results demonstrate that faults can be successfully detected and isolated.
