摘要：

Innovation is one of the priorities of the European Union policy and covers innovative activeness of particular member states. In view of the above, the basic aim of the article is to indicate the similarities and differences within the selected factors determining innovation of economies of countries belonging to the Visegrad Group. The level of innovation of particular countries is determined by numerous factors but this article only covers the selected determinants which develop this activeness while focusing on research and development (R&D) activities. As a result of an analysis, the initial image of the differences and similarities in the undertaken pro-innovation tasks in selected economies was obtained.
