摘要
In today's world, air pollution has become one of the main challenges, especially in highly populated countries such as India. As people spend most of their lives indoors, continuous measurement of pollutant concentrations both indoor and outdoor has become mandatory. The present paper describes the design and development of a cost-effective wireless system that measures the concentration of air pollutants such as O-3, PM2.5, and TVOC in indoor and outdoor environments. The developed system also measures the global warming indicators such as temperature and humidity. It consists of accurate, low-cost sensors connected to an advanced ARM processor. The measurement was taken at four places in Visakhapatnam, India. The system's accuracy was examined by comparing the measured information against the standard values of the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB). The designed cost-effective mobile system measures ozone, PM2.5, temperature, and humidity with an average accuracy of +/- 5.05 mu g m(-3), +/- 7.86 mu g m(-3), +/- 0.8 degrees C, and +/- 2%, respectively.
