摘要：

Urban expansion, along with the generalization of the processes of residential and economic decentralization has led to a new model of urban sprawl characterized by the difficulty of establishing its precise boundaries. Using a density index of roads from a commercial source, and therefore easily upgradeable, it has been defined the phenomenon in the Comunidad Valenciana. The usefulness of the methodology and its ability t capture and to characterize the urban reality is discussed using the Coline land use cartography.
