ANTITERAPIAS, BY JACQUES FUX: AN ODE TO THE INFINITE TEXT

Jacques Fux has created a restrictive method to quote and revisit the literature on Antiterapias (2012). Thus, the author inserts citations that are gradually becoming part of the text, "plagiarizing by anticipation" (FUX, 2014, p.13). According to Gerard Genette in Palimpsestos (1982), there are two types of textual relationship: the intertextual and the hypertextual. The first refers to the axis of intertextuality, which is the actual presence of one text in the other, "in its explicit and most literal form" (GENETTE, 1982, p.9). The second, in turn, refers to the axis of hypertextuality, which is "all text derived from an earlier text by simple transformation" (GENETTE, 1982, p.15). In this way, and by evoking Tiphaine Samoyault, Laurent Jenny, Jorge Luis Borges and, above all, Genette, I intend to observe intertextuality from memory and hypertextuality from the literary review to see what I call infinite text in the work of Jacques Fux.
