摘要
Molten Mg was pressurelessly infiltrated into TiC preforms (56 vol.%) under flowing Ar at temperatures of 850, 900 and 950 degreesC. The rate of infiltration exhibited a strong temperature dependency. The mechanical strength of the composites increased from 172 to 233 MPa for processing temperatures of 850 and 950 degreesC, respectively. (C) 2004 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
