摘要
The use of multiple antennas in Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) systems was analyzed. The transmitter and receiver or both use signals from the subset of available antennas, which allows considerable reductions in hardware expense. The selection of antenna retains the diversity degree for both linear diversity systems with complete channel knowledge and space-time coded systems. For low SNR, spatial multiplexing does not necessarily maximize capacity when antenna selection is present. The frequency selectivity reduces the effectiveness of antenna selection and switches with low attenuation were required for both receiver and transmitter.
