摘要：
Current operational practices increase the possibility that malodours will appear in finished paper and paperboard products. This paper will discuss various odiferous chemicals and operational practices that have been found to contribute to such problems. Sources of odour vary and can include microbial spoilage, chemical additives and even rancid acids from certain types of virgin pulp. This paper will provide examples of problem-solving approaches used at mills with odour problems and explore methods that can be used to mitigate the problems.
