摘要
The ansa to a synthetic problem: A hydrogen bond between a phenol and a sulfinyl oxygen atom can lend axial chirality to styrene derivatives. A C 2-symmetric precursor containing two such sulfinyl styrene motifs with a shared diphenol ring enables the stereoselective formation of an ansa chain (see scheme). This approach provides access to various enantiomerically pure [10]- and [12] paracyclophanes with a benzene or naphthalene platform. © 2009 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
