Upper bounds of the exact order of magnitude in n are given for max(-1 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 1)\p'(x)\/max(-1 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 1)\p(x)\ for polynomials p of degree n, free of zeros in certain regions containing the interval (-1, 1).
