摘要
Hexachlorobenzene (HCB), one of the persistent organic pollutants (POPs), is a refractory semi-volatile organic compound. Treatment of HCB-contaminated wastewater by traditional method is essentially impossible. In this study, the photocatalytic oxidation of HCB pre-adsorbed on TiO2 was examined in aqueous suspension under UV light irradiation. Some factors affecting the photodegradation rate of HCB were also studied. The results indicated that HCB pre-adsorbed on TiO2 underwent a fast photocatalysis. In the process, the pH of the dispersion had little effect on the photooxidation rate of HCB catalyzed by TiO2 whereas the surface coverage. ratio of HCB/Ti2O, addition of Fe3+ and H2O2 affected the photo oxidation rate significantly.
