摘要：

Although previous research has investigated the preferences of railroad travelers, there has been sparse systematic research on these approaches. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to apply a choice experiment (CE), which is an elaborate technique for eliciting individuals' preferences, and validate the preferable attributes of the Central East-West Crossing Train (a cross-country train that connects east and west) in Korea. A total of 235 survey questionnaires were distributed and used for analysis. The results demonstrate that the respondents placed the highest value on the connection with other traffic when choosing a train for travel. Furthermore, the internal elements of a train such as convenience and congestion were also significant attributes. The contributions and implications of this study are also discussed.
