The effect of DC electric field on the dielectric properties of Pb0.94Ba0.06Sc0.5Nb0.5O3 solid solution crystal

摘要
The effect of a DC electric field on the dielectric response of the flux-grown solid solution Pb-0.94 Ba-0.06 Sc-0.5 Nb0.5O3 crystals has been studied. This composition belongs to the crossover compositional range between the low-Ba-content normal ferroelectric and high-Ba-content relaxor ferroelectric states and is characterized by a low value of a threshold field. Application of the electric field E on a zero field cooled crystal in the <100> direction induces a transition into a ferroelectric state after some delay time tau which strongly depends both on temperature T and on E. In contrast to <111> PbMg1/3 Nb-2/3 O-3 crystals where the similar field-induced kinetic phase transition has been already observed, tau values decrease as temperature grows only well below the depoling temperature T-d , but in the vicinity of T-d they increase with T.
