摘要
A novel method of broadening bandwidth for compact circularly polarized microstrip antenna using single-fed structure is proposed. The antenna consists of a horizontal metal strip and a square truncated patch that is adopted for broadening bandwidth. One end of the horizontal metal strip is connected to the patch by a probe, while the other end is connected to an SMA connector. The stacked patch is employed to further improve the axial ratio (AR) bandwidth. Measure results show that the proposed antenna achieves an impedance bandwidth of 296 MHz (2.266 GHz-2.562 GHz) which is around 12.08% and a 3 dB AR bandwidth of 163 MHz (2.38 GHz-2.543 GHz) which is around 6.6%.
