摘要
This paper seeks to take classical electromagnetic theory a step or two beyond where it presently takes us. It presents a formulation based on Maxwell's equations in which, to an increased extent, the energy and structure of elementary particles can be related to classical theory. Special attention is given to the rest-mass/self-energy of mesons. The analysis suggests that the wave nature of particles is related to the particle's nature through Maxwell's equations.
