摘要
Three new poly(p-phenylenevinylene) (PPV)-based polymers PH, PD and P were synthesized by Heck coupling. The polymers PH and PD contained spirocyclohexane-2H-imidazoles and the polymer P contained 2,2-diphenyl-2H-imidazoles along the backbone. The polymers PH and PD showed higher solubility in common organic solvents and significantly higher photoluminescence (PL) efficiency in solution (PL quantum yield up to 0.97) than the polymer P. The chemical structure of the polymers affected considerably their T-g and PL emission. The polymer PH emitted intense blue light, while the other two polymers PD and P emitted green light both in solution and solid state. The PL emission maximum of PD was progressively red-shifted with increasing the solvent polarity. A thermochromic effect was observed for P thin film and its PL emission maximum was blue-shifted upon annealing at 130 degreesC as a result of changes in the molecular packing. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V.
