Influence of precipitator agents NaOH and NH4OH on the preparation of Fe3O4 nano-particles synthesized by electron beam irradiation

摘要
Electron beam irradiation technique as a novel method has been applied at room temperature and ambient pressure to prepare Fe3O4 nano-particles without adding any kind of catalysts. The effects of two different precipitator solutions such as NaOH and NH4OH have been investigated in the preparation of Fe3O4 nano-particles. The optical properties, the composition and the morphology of the irradiated samples have been measured by ultra-visible spectrometer, X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy, respectively. The average particle size of the prepared oxide nanoparticles has been estimated to be about 15 nm and 33 nm by using NaOH and NH4OH as precipitators, respectively.
