Dyeing and printing of 21st century

Over the past several years efforts have been made to obtain gradual improvements of the performance of the existing technology, while the presence of absolutely new technologies is really negligible. In the field of dyeing and printing innovations are subordinate to product quality, specifically in the sense of the development of new shades and special effects with high fastness. With this objective all phases of the technological process are integrated, and a direct intervention in each phase is ensured using multidisciplinary know-how solutions. A faster reaction time at the customer request or real-time communication was achieved via audio-video interfaces attached to the existing technological solutions. Nevertheless, it can be concluded that the main motto of the trade fair ITMA 2007 in Munich was "Save & Safe" with the main directives: more efficient energy use, reduction of water consumption, reduction of production process, reduction of environmental pollution and production of humano-ecologically safe products. In 2011 in Barcelona ITMA celebrates 60 years of innovations, but if no new ways of energy transfer are introduced, it is probably unreal to expect revolutionary innovations in the field of dyeing and printing technologies.
