摘要
This paper presents an experimental investigation of the machining characteristics of the AISI304 stainless steel in the wire electrical discharge machining (WEDM) process. During experiments, parameters such as peak current, pulse on time, pulse off time, wire feed, and wire tension are varied to explore their effects on the response variables such as material removal rate and surface roughness. All the experimental runs have been conducted using a brass wire electrode. Taguchi L16 orthogonal array has been selected for designing the experimentation, and the principal component analysis (PCA) method is used to optimize the responses parameter. This study found that pulse on time is the most crucial factor influencing machining characteristics. It was also revealed that peak current and pulse off time impact surface roughness.
