摘要
The model of integrated urban planning indicates that urban planning requires active public participation. This paper analyses and characterizes public participation in urban planning in the city of Santiago, showing that public participation processes have been informative and consultive, lacking an active participation of its citizens. The development of new participatory planning tools is needed to overcome these problems in Chile and to enable citizen empowerment through participatory planning.
