摘要：

We are developing a computer scheme to classify clustered microcalcifications in mammograms as malignant or benign. The purpose of this paper is to describe an observer study designed to test whether this computer scheme can be used by radiologists to improve the accuracy of the diagnosis for malignant and benign microcalcifications and to improve biopsy recommendations. This study showed that our computer scheme helped ten radiologists experienced in mammography to reduce the number of biopsy recommendations on benign lesions by 10% while correctly diagnosed 14% more cancers.
