Optimum active area on the performance of unturned P(VDF-TrFE) piezoelectric copolymer ultrasonic transducers

摘要
In the design of ultrasonic transducers for medical and non-destructive applications, an active area of transducer is an important factor for performance. In this paper, the optimum active area and the thickness-dependence of P(VDF-TrFE) piezo-copolymer film for unturned ultrasonic transducer were discussed in term of the transducer loss (TL), which were obtained from the modified Mason's equivalent circuit. The experimental results of TL agree with the simulations for two unturned P(VDF-TrFE) ultrasonic transducer, which has 41 and 83 mu m thick piezo-polymer film, respectively.
