Synthesis, Crystal Structure and Magnetic Properties of a New cis-Heterotrinuclear [CuL-Mn-CuL] Complex

摘要
A new dissymmetrical Schiff base copper precursor complex KCuL and a cis-heterotrinuclear complex with the chemical formula [(CuL)(2)Mn(H2O)(2)]center dot CH3OH, have been synthesized and characterized by means of elemental analysis and IR, where H3L=(E)-N-[2-(5-chloro-2-hydroxybenzylideneamino)ethyl]-2-hydroxybenzamide. The crystal structure of the cis-heterotrinuclear complex was determined by X-ray analysis. Each cell unit of the complex contains one neutral cis-heterotrinuclear molecule and two disordered methanol molecules. The central Mn2+ ion is located at the site of O-6 with a distorted octahedral geometry, and two coordination anions [CuL](-) are aligned in cis-configuration. The magnetic properties indicate that the trinuclear complex not only has antiferromagnetic interactions in the internal trinuclear molecule but also has weak ferromagnetic interactions between the trinuclear units. The best-fit parameters are J= -12.1 cm(-1), g=2.20 and zj'=1.37 cm(-1).
