摘要：

Single retainer resin-bonded fixed dental prostheses present a therapeutic alternative to implant-retained crowns for the replacement of missing incisors when the adjacent teeth are caries-free. Longevity of both restoration types and patient satisfaction are comparable. In young patients resin-bonded fixed dental prostheses should be preferred. Using pontics with adequately designed soft tissue contact might maintain tissue volume in the edentulous area over long-term and hereby preserve the possibility of implant-retained restorations later on.
