摘要
Novel regenerated cellulose/sepiolite (RC/SEP) nanocomposite films have been prepared using an environmentally friendly ionic liquid, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride (BMIMCI), through a simple, cost effective and "green" method. The morphology, thermal stability and mechanical properties of these nanocomposite films have been investigated by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and mechanical testing. The results obtained revealed interactions between the sepiolite and regenerated cellulose. The FESEM and TEM results showed that sepiolite was uniformly dispersed in the RC matrix with contact between them. Mechanical properties of the nanocomposite films were significantly improved compared to pure regenerated cellulose film, interestingly without loss of ductility. The presence of sepiolite enhanced the thermal stability and char yield of the nanocomposites. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
