摘要
Electrochemical nanojunctions: A theory of direct elastic electron tunneling under the potential barrier formed by a long molecule that is confined between two metallic electrodes in electrolyte solution is presented. This theory predicts a strong asymmetry of the dependence of the tunnel current on the electrode potentials which is due to the screening of the electric potential in the tunnel gap by the ions of the electrolyte. © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
