摘要
This study examined the relationship between children's physical self-concept and physical exercise. The sample comprised 528 children, aged 5.7 to 8.4 years (mean age = 6.8 years +/- 0.5 SD), of whom 251 were boys and 277 girls. Physical self-concept was assessed using the Children's Physical Self-Concept Scale. Physical exercise was measured by a 7-day questionnaire. Children were classified into low and high physical exercise groups based on their mean scores. Two-way ANOVA was used to analyze the data. Results indicated that there was a significant difference (p < .05) between the low and the high exercise group concerning Global Physical Self-Concept Scale and Physical Performance, where children from the high exercise group achieved better results. There were no significant differences in the subscales of Physical Appearance and Weight Control. In interaction (physical exercise x gender), there was a significant difference (p < .05) in the subscale of Physical Performance, where boys and girls from the high physical exercise group were assessed more highly.
