摘要
Civil Engineering programs across the country must face the challenge of integrating more soft skills into their curriculums without sacrificing technical content. This must be accomplished to produce graduates that are capable of competing and succeeding in today's global marketplace. A proposed curriculum revision is discussed that attempts to integrate design skills along with communication and team skills in a four-year design scenario. This revision attempts to address many of the concerns of industry and academe in Arkansas regarding the marketable skills of newly minted civil engineers. The increased coverage of both soft and technical skills is accomplished without increasing the program hours required for graduation.
